Thymus vulgaris
Grown near the Mediterranean Sea at low altitude. Traditionally, the antioxidant property was prescribed for plague and paralysis, leprosy and body lice and, used for medicate gauze, wool and surgical dressing. It possessed a strong anti-microbial properties to counter digestive and respiratory infections and, an excellent immunostimulant.
Scent - Middle note
Intensely sharp fresh-warm, woody-herbaceous odour with spicy undertone extracted from dried leaves and flowering tops.
Anti infectious, anti-rheumatic, anti-spasmodic, bactericide, cardiac, carminative, cicatrisant, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, hypertensive, insecticide, stimulant, vermifuge.
Abdominal distension, bronchitis, candidiasis, chronic fatigue, catarrhal coughs, intestinal infection, gastroenteritis, gout, headaches, low blood pressure, mental stimulant, shallow breathing, stimulate appetite.
Topical application - massage, compression, bath, liniment;
Inhalation - direct inhalation, diffusion, vaporisation.
Vaporiser oil
A nerve tonic, stimulating intellectual and mental activity with powerful anti-infectious properties. This oil blends well with bergamot and rosemary.
Switch on vaporiser to the maximum, drop a few drops of Thyme oil or with blended essence according to the area size and intensity, and allow the oil to evaporate to saturate the environment. Ensure all windows and doors are closed.
General regarded as safe. Perform patch and/or scent test before use. For any skin allergic reactions, run tap water or cool compress on affected areas until redness subsided. Store essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place and avoid sunlight and keep children out of reach.
Essential oils are not safe to apply on the skin undiluted nor to consume any small amounts which can cause significant poisoning.
