Niaouli
Melaleuca quinquenervia
Produced in Madagascar. Traditionally used in medicinal preparations for respiratory and vaginal infections in the1980s for its strong anti-microbial and anti-septic properties. It is still extensively used for wounds cleaning, musculoskeletal, reproductive and respiratory system until today.
SCENT- Middle note
Strong fresh camphor, sweet- floral- extracted from the leaves and twigs.
Analgesic, ant-infectious, anti-inflammatory, citcartisant, decongestant, expectorant, vermifuge, vulnerary.
Boils, burns, chronic bronchitis, cystitis, minor wounds, muscular aches and pain, sinusitis, urinary tract infections.
Topical application - massage, compression, bath, ointment, liniment, skin care;
Inhalation - direct inhalation, diffusion, vaporisation.
Vaporiser oil
Niaouli oil is renown for its ability to repel insect when vaporised. It blends well with orange sweet and lavender.
Switch on vaporiser to the maximum, drop a few drops of Niaouli oil alone or with blend ed essence according to the area size and intensity, and allow the oil to evaporate to saturate the environment. Ensure all windows and doors are closed.
General regarded as safe. Perform patch and/or scent test before use. For any skin allergic reactions, run tap water or cool compress on affected areas until redness subsided. Store essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place and avoid sunlight and keep children out of reach.
Essential oils are not safe to apply on the skin undiluted nor to consume any small amounts which can cause significant poisoning.
