Origanum majorana
Produced by France, Tunisia, Morocco, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Germany and Turkey. Traditionally used in Europe as herbal medicine for treatment of respiratory ailments. It has vast potent therapeutic properties with multiple effects on the circulatory, digestive, musculoskeletal, nervous, respiratory and reproductive system. Â
Scent - Middle note
Warm-spicy, camphoraceous-woody- extracted from the leaves and flowering tops.
Analgesic, anaphrodisiac, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antispasmodic, carminative, cordial, diuretic, emmenagogue, hypotensive, sedative, vasodilator.
Colic, constipation, cramps, flatulence, hypertension, muscle spasm, palpitations, respiratory infections, rheumatic pain, sciatica, spasmodic indigestion, sprains and strains.
Topical application -Â massage, compression, bath, liniment, skin care;
Inhalation -Â direct inhalation, diffusion, steam inhalation, vaporisation.
Vaporiser oilÂ
Marjoram oil strengthen and yet, relax and sedate nerves. This renown oil blends well with a wide range of essential oils but distinctly well with roman chamomile and rosemary.
Switch on vaporiser to the maximum, drop a few drops of Marjoram, sweet oil alone or with blended essence according to the area size and intensity, and allow the oil to evaporate to saturate the environment. Ensure all windows and doors are closed.
General regarded as safe. Perform patch and/or scent test before use. For any skin allergic reactions, run tap water or cool compress on affected areas until redness subsided. Store essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place and avoid sunlight and keep children out of reach.
Essential oils are not safe to apply on the skin undiluted nor to consume any small amounts which can cause significant poisoning.
