Produced in the Ivory Coast, Guinea, Morocco and Corsica. The fragrant water was originally introduced in Italy with medicinal treatment for fever and worms. It's valuable properties have immeasurable effects on the digestive, immune, nervous, urinary system. It possessed bergaptene which exhibits phtotoxicity.Ā
Scent - Top note
Sweet-fruity, herbaceous, balsamic - expressed from the rind of the nearly ripe fruit.
Analgesic, antidepressant, antiviral, antispasmodic, carminative, deodorant, digestive, sedative.
Acne, digestive disorders, depression, cystitis, eczema, herpes, insomnia, psoriasis.
Topical application - douche, compression, sitz bath, massage, liniment;
Inhalation - direct inhalation, diffusion, vaporisation.
Vaporiser oilĀ
Bergamot is fruity, lively and emits a gentle floral scent can be uplifting yet sedating. It blends well with lavender, geranium, eucalyptus and ylang ylang.Ā
Switch on vaporiser to the maximum, add a few drops of Bergamot oil alone or with blended essence according to the area size and intensity, and allow the oil to evaporate to saturate the environment. Ensure all windows and doors are closed.
Considered photo toxic. Perform patch and/or scent test before use. For any skin allergic reactions, run tap water or cool compress on affected areas until redness subsided. Store essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place and avoid sunlight and keep children out of reach.
Essential oils are not safe to apply on the skin undiluted nor to consume any small amounts which can cause significant poisoning.
