Ocimum basilicum
Produced mainly in India. Traditionally used against jaundice, epilepsy and as a diuretic. Pharmacologically, it has potent antimicrobial, anti-fungal and spasmodic properties which is valuable for the digestive, respiratory, and reproductive system. It is also reputed for its cephalic action on the nervous system, clears mind and relieve intellectual fatigue.
SCENT - Top-middle note
Sweet spicy, woody, awakening, clarifying and stimulating - extracted from the leaf.
Analgesic, antidepressant, antiviral, antispasmodic, carminative, cephalic, digestive, emmenagogue, expectorant, nervine sudorific.
Asthma, bronchitis, digestive disorders, fever, flus, intellectual fatigue, menstruation disorders, nervous disorders, sinusitis, whooping cough
Topical applicationĀ :Ā massage, ointments, liniment;
Inhalation :Ā direct inhalation, diffusion, vaporisation.
Vaporiser oilĀ
Basil finest remedies for intellectual fatigue strengthen mind and gives clarity. It blends well with all citrus and floral essential oils.Ā
Switch on vaporiser to the maximum, add a few drops of Basil oil or with blended essence according to the area size and intensity, and allow the oil to evaporate to saturate the environment. Ensure all windows and doors are closed.
General regarded as safe. Perform patch and/or scent test before use. For any skin allergic reactions, run tap water or cool compress on affected areas until redness subsided. Store essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place and avoid sunlight and keep children out of reach.
Essential oils are not safe to apply on the skin undiluted nor to consume any small amounts which can cause significant poisoning.
