Aniseed Essential Oil
Pimpinella anisum
Produced mainly by Spain. A spice cultivated by ancient Egyptians for culinary and treatment of asthma, bronchitis, dry coughs and flatulence. Pharmacological studies reported its potent oestrogenic components effect on the reproductive system and, the spasmolytic stimulating actions on the digestive and respiratory system.
Scent - Middle note
Sweet clean, uplifting and comforting,-distilled from the dried ripe fruit (seeds).Antispasmodic, carminative, expectorant, galactagogue, oestrogenic, stimulant.
Flatulence, gastritis, lack of milk flow, menstrual irregularities and menopause.
Topical application : massage, liniment;
Inhalation : direct inhalation, diffusion vaporisation.
Vaporiser oil
Aniseed intense sweet and spicy scent blends well with orange sweet, pine or lavender essential oils.
Switch on vaporiser to the maximum and add a few drops of Aniseed oil or with blended essence according to the area size and intensity. Allow the oil to evaporate to saturate the environment. Ensure all windows and doors are closed.
Contra-indications to allergic skin. General regarded as safe. Perform patch and/or scent test before use. For any skin allergic reactions, run tap water or cool compress on affected areas until redness subsided. Store essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place and avoid sunlight and keep children out of reach.
Essential oils are not safe to apply on the skin undiluted nor to consume any small amounts which can cause significant poisoning.
